Playing up its heralded Made in the USA label, New Balance unleashes a new collection inspired by American literature and the tales of the Wild West. The “Distinct Authors” Collection brings these stories to life with the brand’s trademark eye for high-grade materials. The 996 adapts a tan template with bison leather and pigskin suede as an ode to train conductors. The 997 incorporates heavy-duty Chicago-sourced Horween leather and dark colors to bring the mysterious outlaw to life. adidas Originals and BAIT have partnered up to celebrate the latest versions of the adidas Originals ZX Flux with a brand new pop-up shop at BAIT’s flagship Diamond Bar location. The stunning new pop-up shop showcases the latest releases of the popular sneaker with a backlit display that pays homage to BAIT’s crown-cut logo. The displays feature selections from the Weave 8000, Tech, and Base Tone Packs, which integrate various materials and patterns into the silhouette. Big Sean’s third collaboration is inspired by his trips to Hawaii for the famed G.O.O.D. Music recording sessions alongside the likes of Kanye West, Pusha T, Q-Tip, Kid Cudi, and Justin Vernon. The sneaker used this time is the Metro Attitude Hi, which gets covered in a snakeskin texture with colorful graphics of Hawaiian flowers filling in the scales. Choice cuts of black suede are layered over the toe, heel, and for the signature Three Stripes. The hip-hop superstar puts the finishing touches via metallic gold accents and lyrics on the insole. Nike breathes new life into one of many landmarks of its long-running Air Max line: an original colorway of the Air Max 93 known as the “Menthol.” The shoe itself is a great fit in today’s boom of retro running silhouettes, and the clean color palette only furthers its modern appeal. And while the white-based look and leather and mesh materials are certainly nice, the trademark Max Air heel unit still makes these a comfortable choice for a run, even 21 years after its release.
